The Department of Exchange Visitor Sponsorship provides J-1 visa sponsorship to educational and research institutions, corporate partners, libraries, museums, not-for-profit and other similar organizations. IIE provides J-1 visa sponsorship to exchange visitors at over 100 host sites annually. The Manager, Exchange Visitor Systems oversees the management of IIE’s Exchange Visitor information systems, including SEVIS, SUNAPSIS and CRM. Work is carried out independently under general supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Manage and maintain SUNAPSIS, IIE’s SEVIS batch system, including troubleshooting, building e-forms and templates, managing user access, conducting testing, developing system functionality and self-service portal, etc.
- Communicate with SUNAPSIS Helpdesk and IIE IT team to maintain batch system functionality.
- Design, build and troubleshoot reports from various IIE systems including SUNAPSIS, CRM, Peoplesoft, etc., including SEVIS status reports, quality assurance reports from SUNAPSIS and CRM, and financial reports from Peoplesoft.
- Monitor SEVIS-related data for all IIE exchange visitors and ensure data integrity by performing regular internal audits and working with team managers to address potential risks.
- Serve as the divisional CRM point person including managing various CRM-related projects for the division and communicating with the CRM team.
- Serve as an Alternate Responsible Officer on all IIE-administered Exchange Visitor Programs.
- Responsible for complying with applicable contract and sponsor requirements and following all IIE policies and procedures.
- Performs other related duties and functions as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 4 years of experience with at least 1.5 years of database management and report building.
- Knowledge of the SEVIS system required.
- Experience in contributing towards systems administration and data management operations for complex projects.
- A solid understanding of J Exchange Visitor Program visa regulations, strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience in performing quality assurance duties and tasks.

- Ability to develop systems, processes, and procedures in order to achieve high quality output.
- Ability to manage a high volume of work and to prioritize several projects at the same time, all while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to demonstrate good judgment and work independently.
- Ability to negotiate and work well under pressure and on short-deadlines at critical periods.
- Ability to maintain the highest degree of composure and confidentiality regarding all aspects of work at all times.
- Knowledge of the SUNAPSIS system.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written, including the ability to make public presentations.
- Ability to travel for training, presentations at host sites, and site visit evaluations, as necessary.
